Film Insurance Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd, ( FIUA ), has been operating since 1987, specialising solely within the film and television Industry. In that time, FIUA has become the largest provider of Insurance for Feature Films, Miniseries, Television Series, Documentaries and Commercials as well as providing annual coverages for equipment owners, etc. FIUA has also been the major innovator in providing options for the industry to effect covers such as mechanical & electrical breakdown, bereavement leave, essential elements and kidnap of nominated persons. As well as providing the necessary Insurance coverages for the Industry FIUA has, since its inception, been pro-active within the Industry particularly in lecturing at many Educational Institutions. It has also been a major sponsor of many Industry events and was proud to be the financial sponsor of Film and Television Industry Safety Guidance Notes. FIUA is headed by Neil McEwin and Joe Lo Surdo who between them have in excess of 40 years experience in the industry. From inception the Company has always maintained a swift and equitable settlement of claims, which have totalled in excess of $20,000,000. The standard covers available are : Film Producers’ Indemnity (Cast) Negative Film Risk Multi Risks (props, sets & wardrobe, equipment, office contents) Extra Expense Public Liability Money Errors and Omissions The Company is always amenable to discuss any other requirements that may be necessary and to provide advice to the Insured on what can be a complex area for the uninitiated.
